Copper Basin

Target Commodity:Cu(-Mo)
Partnership Status: Designated Project with Vale
Land Position: more than 4,800 acres; 239 unpatented lode mining claims
Property Location: Yavapai County, Arizona, 80 Km north of Phoenix in the Bradshaw Mountains
  • Large porphyry copper-molybdenum system containing several previously undrill-tested supergene and hypogene targets.
  • Quartz-pyrite-chalcopyrite-molybdenite veins and stockworks cutting Precambrian granites and younger Laramide quartz diorite dikes and stock are exposed in multiple drainages within a central interior block.
  • Previous historic drilling confirmed porphyry-style mineralization but only tested a small area within a relatively deep structural level. One core hole, CB-3 averaged 0.20% copper and 0.025% molybdenum (reported as 0.042% MoS2) over its entire 940 meter length (1974 unpublished Asarco drill log report).
  • Synthesis of new geologic data suggest that shallower structural levels, where higher hypogene grades might be expected, should be preserved under less altered rocks to the east where several copper seeps are observed originating from weakly altered rocks.
  • The Company has identified several new targets outside of the confined area of historic drill testing as a focus of initial drill program
